Open Source Craft (What an idea...)

I just thought of an idea...open source craft...just like open source program or software...it's free and people may develop it...it's like sharing everything...but I don't know...sometimes, I just thought, craft world is more cruel than software...Sometimes, in craft world, people copy here and there without acknowledge...while in software or program world...sometimes, eventhough some people copy it or make or sell illegal copy they don't acknowledge it as their work...or sell it "like" it is their work...but when it comes to open source, a lot of people respect it and honour it...but when it's craft...sometimes, it's just taken for granted...worse, I read a story of a crafter whose her free pattern was sold in etsy and the seller was not ashamed to say that she would sell it more because fall (or winter) was coming...and that seller sell using the photo in the crafter blog...crazy, eh?...

I admire how Linux and other open source is going so well until now...a lot people take it for granted but in a Positive way...Can craft world will be like that, too?...when people can respect other people work each other, acknowledge it...and develop together to reach our own style and unique...I truly hate it when people said,"there's no such an original thing anymore right now..."...yeah...when we have no unique personality and just love to be a follower, lazy to think, to lazy to dig our own personality and the unique things inside us, then forget about originality!...if there's no originality, art would have been dead by now because it's gotta be so damn boring...but see? If you ever saw project runway, you'll know what kind of originality I'm talking about...Originality is more than a technique, more than a pattern...it's a style...it's the basic idea...

Linux is based on C (so far I know) language...and so some other program...but see? they have their own unique and feature...

I'm thinking of pioneering Open Source Craft...but I must be careful, too about this...may be I'm going to start from small things...My concept is giving the basic, but not like free jacket with some style pattern...I don't know...I think I don't really trust craft world as I trust software world...I wish there's a GNU-like for crafting...so, every one know it's free to develop and of course to distribute...and it's also acknowledged that it's crafter a's work or b's work...and every one respect that....because it's opened, so everyone respect that and hesitate to like robing the creation...so far, I've never heard such a scandal or may be I'm just too naive...

I'll think more about this idea...and how to run it...really, sometimes I just want to copyright it...but copyright sometimes limit people from learning and developing...learning and developing need money while copyright sometimes prohibit it from selling the project even in small quantity and price...but I know, at the other side, if it's not copyrighted, people may use it only for selling purpose and forgot about learning purpose...and the worse is...it can be used for bulk or industrial quantity (eventhough it's small industry...it's still an industry)....

Damn...craft world...never thought it's a cruel world, more than software...I thought software people sometimes sucks (really), but now...I just feel, some of craft people are sucks...and they are not even a 'crafter'...more like a seller...
