Yayyy!!!! I made a back pack (again) \(^.^)/

Design & Pattern by Sweet Nichan
Check out new and more pictures of this back pack...I took the picture before washing... I want to show it first to a friend in flickr...Sorry for "emergency pose" & picture /(^.^)'  ...Detail will be in my web next weekend/Friday...washing is quick but drying it (T.T) ...no sun here...

I love this back pack so much...my previous back pack is more teen-adult style while this one is more general...kids, teen, adult...It's a back pack style we see often in a bag store.

It's hard to get the right design for this fabric...This fabric suits for a lot of design because it's already cute itself...simple tote bag, flat bag...the motif has already became the decoration for the bag...Because the fabric suits for a lot of design, that's why, I didn't want to sew it quickly and turned it into an ordinary bag...it's cute and I wanted it to be looked cuter (^.^)

I didn't want to make this back pack at first ..but when that day I was sketching a back pack, I realized right away that this fabric will be great if I made into a back pack...The first plan was to make it into my previous design like sewing-notion-fabric-black and white-sling bag...but i didn't want to make it as a sling bag but more to handbag or shoulder bag...at the last minute, I changed into this back pack (^.^)...

It was a crazy decision because I'm running out of supplies and for the string, I didn't have the right size of extension ring I need...but I was really-really challenged  (or some people may see look for own trouble...ah (^.^)' )...I "tricked" it, then...
There's a lot of new knowledge I learned during the making...trying another technique to assembly the lining, etc...

For the string: I used sponge sheet inside...I just realized (after cutting) that this back pack was going to be quite big...I wanted the user to be comfortable on the shoulder...that's why I decided to use sponge sheed...I used my little adidas back-pack strings for this but I didn't make it exactly like that...I like how adidas assemblied the strings on the body of my little back-ack...it was brilliant and everything was calculated well...
b(^.^) ...
But I still wanted my own assembling (^.^)...

I thought using sponge would be hard to sew but apparently it wasn't...really...moreover, using sponge formed the string better!...you have to try it (^.^)...

About interfacing: I used thin hard interfacing but I only put it on the main fabric...I didn't use any interfacing on the lining...I didn't want to make it look more stiff inside besides, the fabric was already medium thick...

Making simple basic back pack is not as hard as it seems...if you like making "box" bag like I always do, the body of the bag use the same technique...the differences or variations are only on : strings, pocket, shape (and may be more...)...

I'm going to make the smaller version for my own portfolio (I always do this)...Should I make it here or wait until my vacation?...hmmm...this is so confusing since as I said before my supplies is running out...I'll see what I can do with the available supplies...It will be not too structured in look, but one thing for sure, I must have an interfacing type that can strengthen the fabric...If I don't...I'd rather to wait until my next vacation...Imported fabrics are so expensive (super expensive exactly...)...I'm not going to waste it for not-maximum-result...

I'm thinking of tomboy style for my next project (besides the portfolio-smaller-back pack)...it's inspired by long-time ago esprit bag I saw but couldn't afford to buy (^o^)' ...too expensive, eh....It won't be exactly like that bag (I don't remember exactly how it looks like anyway...and besides, I want my own style)...but it's gotta be tomboy but at the same time it looks girly, too...Designs are in the head but the supplies are not in the closet (^o^)...oh, boy...this is so hard...let's see...let's see...
