I just got a magazine I'm subsribing...it surprised me that the front cover, showing a model with a big coat but the seam is seen...so it's like dots along the front opening...it was supposed to be reversible coat but in this case I wouldn't wear it reversible-y with that "dots" seen ... When I bought my sewing machine, the store sent an instructor to teach me how to use it. He showed me how to use a feature on the sewing machine that can be used for making finishing seam for those edges of clothing. I saw the result, not a neat one... Since I've been making a lot of bags, I'm getting used to with handsewing...I realize it is very useful and not that kind of "hard journey" to finish...instead, it's fun!...I use handsew in finishing my sewn fashion... To sew the edges, don't take too much fiber on your needle, so on the other side of fabric, you wont see dots. make sure you use a sharp needle in order to not making the fiber of the fabric broken or wreck. Use appropriate size of needles. There's a smaller one, there's a bigger one...just make sure you don't just grab any size for your silk or chiffon fabric (^o^) about thread?...hmmm...this is hard since I only use 1 type of threads. It's the only one that available in my country! (^.^)' ... sometimes, using this thread I have, if not using it carefully, can wreck the silk fabric I love to use...I never try to find any info about this in internet because I don't have any option of threads, though...But usually, when you are searching for silk sewing or how to sew with silk, there's an explanation about what the best thread to use. There's only 1 sewing magazine i admire most among others...even if they use sewing machine to finish edge seam, still, they do it PERFECTLY...it just encourages me to improve my sew more and more... it's the one and only ....
