The last 2 weeks of sewing was not great. It was a nightmare... Mainly because: i chose "the designs" and "the fabrics" that need a DRESS FORM. First: i sew a silk blouse. Second: i sew a silk tube dress. I usually work with soft japanese cotton used for a man's shirt, or other type of cotton, drill, etc, but not a silk...i rarely sew this one...Even chiffon, for some design and some type of chiffon, i still can handle it..but silk...it's so slippery...It'so hard to "shape" it eventhough i press it... And about a Tube Dress...it was a more nightmare than the blouse...a Tube dress must be fit on the body, very-very fit...not too loose (of course (^o^) ), or too tight (you can't breath (*o*) )...it's just fit...and i've never sew a tube dress before...but i thought i could handle the fabric that was silk, because the silk use this time was thicker than the one for the blouse...So, it's really-really double trouble: first the tube dress, second, the silk... I didn't mean to find this web, because my keyword was used to search tube dress or sheat dress references...but i clicked this web by accident...i would like to share what i got to you...it's a dress form making...it's really-really good tutorial, with photos and complete instruction...i want to make one but i live in a mountain...really, i went to a local department store...there was no packing TAPE available...crazy, eh...So, i think i'm going to wait until my next vacation where i can buy a lot of tapes to make this dress form (^.^) cherio,Sweet Nichan |
