Do you know what to do when choosing a fabric?

May be a stupid question...
but sometimes, I don't know what to do with the fabrics when I choose it...but one thing I'm sure: the fabric is attractive, picked from inside of my heart...in short: I'm in love the fabric...ah, sounds romantic, doesn't it?...

When the fabric arrives, I just enjoy them...enjoy the motif, the texture, the type of fabric, etc, etc...I enjoy my fabrics like enjoying a painting...

I never buy a fabric for specific purpose like I want to make a this bag, that bag, this design that design...First priority is both motif and color...type of fabric? yes...sometimes...I mean, yes, I know I want to make bag or sewing project other than fashion but not like specific design of it...so, of course, type of fabric is important...but that's second priority...

I design something separated from the fabric...sometimes, the fabric inspiring but that's only at first...the result is not always the same as the first idea...Usually, after making the design, I choose the right fabric from my fabric collection...

I never choose fabric like...just any fabric...or close my eyes and pick a fabric...NEVER!...I choose the fabric that match to my design and choose the design that match my fabrics...and NOT ALL fabrics match to the design and vice versa...

Two things in my head when executing a design into a real thing:
1. I must make sure, the beauty of the fabric is shown...it's not like it's there "meaningless"...
2. The fabric must also able to show up the design...the fabric must: not just be a fabric used for the design but also part of the design and at the same time, becoming decoration, with other fabric used...So, when the project is made I expect that the project is like "fabric and design are inseparatable"...I mean, all are blended, merged: design & fabrics...the fabric is an important thing to the design, to another fabric...on the other side, the design is important for the fabric...it can't always be applied to another fabric...

What an art language...I remember, some artist sometimes says something confusing...I don't understand their "art language"...now, I'm using it...(^o^)...

Sometimes, I chose fabrics that are not really-really I was in love with...I bought it because I thought the motif is challenging...the result? I feel kind of lazy to make something of...because the design comes from my heart, my personality while the fabrics, I didn't buy them with my heart...so, it's quite hard to make those 2 important thing (design & fabric) to get along...now...I only choose what my heart likes (^.^)...A fabric that I'm really in love with...Sometimes, I postpone buying a fabric (because I shop too much already) just want to know how I feel...do I really love it? How does I feel the more often I see it?...more in love? or get bored?...some fabrics make me get bored the more I see them...but some fabrics, make me more want it and then miss them when someone else buy it...

Sometimes, I want to re-think again if I want to survive in craft business...but really, I can't make something that is not born from the heart...It's a HANDMADE indeed, but just born from the HAND not the HEART...while my hands are quite connected to my heart...when my heart feel uncomfortable, then the result of the project will look like "HALF"-made...or If I do it like business-woman robot, then the result will be like "Robot"-made...so boring, so plain and meaningless...

I know people like me usually poor and rarely success in craft business, but I also know that people who work with their heart, their works are inspiring, timeless, and of course "decorating" the world with their art...
(again, another art language...I'd better be shut up now...got to sleep...Good Night and Happy Crafting)
